Job Title: Technical Engineering Director

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Technical Engineering Director to lead our engineering team in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of our operations, driving innovation, and ensuring that our engineering practices are aligned with industry best practices. The Technical Engineering Director will play a key role in shaping our technical strategy, managing our engineering teams, and driving the development of new products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement technical strategies to drive business growth and innovation
• Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of new products and services, ensuring that they meet customer needs and are aligned with industry trends
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and customer service, to ensure that technical solutions meet business requirements
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans to ensure the effective use of resources
• Ensure that all engineering practices are aligned with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in a relevant field of engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Computer Science from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role, with a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and technologies, with expertise in multiple areas, such as design, development, testing, and implementation
• Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions
• Proficiency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Professional certification, such as PMP or PE, is an advantage
