Job Title: Senior Electrician

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrician to join our team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and a proven track record of leading teams and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Senior Electrician will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment, and will be responsible for mentoring junior electricians and providing technical guidance as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and electrical devices
• Lead a team of electricians and provide technical guidance and training as needed
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend repairs or upgrades
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems, including faults and malfunctions
• Collaborate with other teams, including facilities and engineering, to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, including Ethiopian building codes and electrical standards

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 5 years of experience as an electrician, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role
• TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) certification in electrical engineering or a related field is an advantage
• Proven knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and electrical devices
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading teams and providing technical guidance
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with other teams and stakeholders
• Familiarity with Ethiopian building codes and electrical standards, including the Ethiopian Standard for Electrical Installations
