Mechanical Supervisor
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of mechanical systems, managing a team of technicians, and implementing maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanical technicians and other maintenance personnel
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions
- Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical system failures and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences
- Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies, and ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are available and in good working condition
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that mechanical systems are integrated with other systems and processes
- Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and repair activities, and ensure that costs are controlled and within budget
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- At least 5 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance supervision role, preferably in a similar industry
- Proven knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, gearboxes, and other related equipment
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of technicians
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with other departments and stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Certification in a related field, such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) or CPMM (Certified Plant Maintenance Manager), is an advantage
