Job Title: Technical Director

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Technical Director to lead our technical team in driving innovation, improving efficiency, and ensuring the alignment of our technical capabilities with business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our technical systems, as well as providing strategic guidance and direction to the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement technical strategies that align with the organization’s overall mission and goals
  • Lead and manage a team of technical professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of technical systems, including software applications and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements and solutions
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and reliability of our technical systems, including data protection and disaster recovery
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 8 years of experience in a technical leadership role, with a proven track record of success in managing technical teams and delivering complex projects
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in programming languages, software development methodologies, and IT infrastructure management
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire technical teams
  • Experience with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, and IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL
  • Professional certifications, such as PMP, ITIL, or CISSP, are an added advantage
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an asset
