Job Description

Job Title: Local Radio Station for GBV and CRSV Awareness Programs

Brief Summary

We are seeking proposals from local radio stations to produce and broadcast awareness programs on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV) in the Tigray, Amhara, and Benishangul-Gumuz regions. The successful radio station will work closely with our team to develop and disseminate critical information to affected communities, promoting awareness, support, and prevention of GBV and CRSV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce high-quality radio programs, including dramas, discussions, and public service announcements, to raise awareness about GBV and CRSV in the target regions.
  • Conduct research and gather information on GBV and CRSV issues in the target regions to inform program content.
  • Engage with local communities, including women’s groups, community leaders, and other stakeholders, to ensure that program content is relevant and effective.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure that programs align with project objectives and are of high quality.
  • Broadcast programs on a regular schedule, ensuring maximum reach and impact.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience in producing and broadcasting radio programs, preferably on GBV and CRSV or related topics.
  • Strong understanding of GBV and CRSV issues in the target regions, including cultural and social factors that contribute to these problems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and verify information.
  • Fluency in local languages spoken in the target regions (e.g., Tigrinya, Amharic, Berta).
  • Familiarity with Ethiopian media laws and regulations, as well as international standards for media programming on GBV and CRSV.
  • Access to a wide reach and audience in the target regions, with a strong signal and clear broadcast quality.
  • Ability to provide a detailed proposal, including a concept note, work plan, and budget, outlining how the radio station will produce and broadcast GBV and CRSV awareness programs.
