Job Description

A. Responsibilities and Deliverables

The selected external consultant will be responsible for the following:

Pre- and Post-Training Assessments: Design and administer a short pre-training test to assess baseline knowledge of psychological first aid, stress management, mental health awareness, and self-care practices. Conduct a post-training evaluation to measure learning outcomes and training effectiveness.
Training Delivery: Deliver a one-day, in-person training in Arbaminch focusing on Psychological First Aid (PFA) as the main module, while integrating subtopics including stress management, work-life balance, burnout prevention, mindfulness, and team wellbeing.
Participatory Methods: Use interactive approaches such as group discussions, role plays, simulations, and mindfulness exercises.
Training Materials: Prepare comprehensive manuals, handouts, and digital resources as applicable.
Post-Training Resources: Provide reference materials (e.g., guides, toolkits) for continued learning and reinforcement.
Report Writing: Submit a concise final report including:Key findings from pre- and post-assessments.
Participant feedback and training impact analysis.
Recommendations for future wellbeing interventions tailored to emergency project staff.
B. Logistical Scope

Number of participants: Approximately 20-25 emergency project staff.
Mode: In-person, one-day training.
Location: Arbaminch, Ethiopia.
Travel Requirement: Consultant must travel to Arbaminch to deliver the training.
C. Desired Qualifications and Experience

The ideal consultant/service provider should possess:

A master’s degree or higher in psychology, counseling, social work, organizational development, or a related field.
Proven experience in Psychological First Aid (PFA), stress management and wellbeing training.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in designing and delivering wellbeing programs for humanitarian or emergency response staff.
Experience working with international NGOs.
Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Familiarity with specialized training approaches for emergency contexts.
Excellent report-writing and analytical skills.
Fluency in English and fluency in local languages
