Current Medical Benefit Arrangement

Kifiya currently provides a company-funded medical benefit scheme based on a reimbursement model. While the scheme provides basic medical protection, the organization intends to upgrade the program by introducing a structured group medical and life insurance solution.

Purpose of this TOR

The purpose of this TOR is to invite licensed insurance providers operating in Ethiopia to submit proposals for Kifiya’s integrated employee insurance services.

The insurance program should include:

1. Medical Insurance

2. Group-Term Life Insurance

3. Personal Accident Insurance

The objective is to secure a comprehensive, cost-effective, and scalable employee insurance program through competitive bidding.

Objectives of the Insurance Program

The selected insurance provider(s) should support Kifiya in achieving the following objectives:

Improve employee access to healthcare services
Provide financial protection against major health events
Introduce direct billing arrangements with healthcare providers or designated beneficiaries.
Ensure timely claims processing
Provide coverage for employees across Ethiopia

Introduce digital insurance service platforms

Maintain predictable insurance costs

The insurer is encouraged to propose innovative insurance structures that improve value for money and employee experience.

About You
Bidder Eligibility

Insurance providers must:

Be licensed to operate in Ethiopia

Have at least 10 years’ experience providing corporate employee medical, life and accident insurance services.

Bidders must provide a minimum of five (5) corporate references for similar services
