Terms of Reference to Undertake Baseline Survey for Shashemene Holistic Action for Sustainable Household Empowerment (SHASHE II) Phase Two Project
Brief Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced consultant to conduct a comprehensive baseline survey for the SHASHE II Phase Two Project. The purpose of this survey is to establish a clear understanding of the current situation and provide a foundation for monitoring and evaluating the project’s progress. The consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing the survey, collecting and analyzing data, and producing a detailed report that highlights the key findings and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop a comprehensive survey methodology, including sampling frame, sample size, and data collection tools
- Conduct a literature review of existing studies and surveys related to the SHASHE II project
- Collect and analyze data on key indicators, including household demographics, socioeconomic status, and access to basic services
- Develop and implement a data quality control and assurance plan to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data
- Produce a detailed report that presents the key findings, including tables, figures, and charts, and provide recommendations for the project implementation
- Present the survey findings to the project team and stakeholders
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Statistics, Economics, Sociology, or Development Studies, from a recognized Ethiopian university
- At least 5 years of experience in conducting surveys and research studies, preferably in the development sector
- Proven expertise in survey design, data collection, and data analysis, including experience with statistical software such as SPSS or STATA
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
- Fluency in Amharic and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with the Ethiopian context and experience working with local communities and stakeholders
