Terms of Reference for Individual Consultants to Conduct a Case Study for the LEGO Foundation Childhood Development Activity (CDA) – Amhara Region

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Individual Consultant to conduct a case study for the LEGO Foundation Childhood Development Activity (CDA) in the Amhara Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting an in-depth analysis of the CDA’s impact on childhood development in the region, identifying best practices, and providing recommendations for future program improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive literature review of existing research and documents related to the CDA in the Amhara Region
  • Design and implement a case study methodology, including data collection tools and sampling strategies
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data from various stakeholders, including children, parents, teachers, and community leaders
  • Identify and document best practices and challenges in the implementation of the CDA in the Amhara Region
  • Develop a comprehensive case study report, including recommendations for future program improvements and scalability
  • Present the case study findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including the LEGO Foundation and local government officials

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 5 years of experience in conducting research and case studies, preferably in the field of childhood development or education
  • Proven expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including data collection and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and document best practices and challenges
  • Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies is an asset
  • Familiarity with the Ethiopian education system and childhood development policies is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results
