Solution Architect (Technical Lead)
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Solution Architect (Technical Lead) to join our team. As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the overall technical architecture of our systems and applications. You will lead the technical team to develop and implement solutions that meet business requirements and align with the company’s technical vision. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the technical architecture of our systems and applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices
- Lead the technical team to design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and operations to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions
- Conduct technical research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and system documentation
- Mentor and guide junior team members to develop their technical skills and knowledge
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our systems, and develop strategies for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from a reputable Ethiopian university (such as Addis Ababa University, Bahir Dar University, or Jimma University)
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, architecture, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects
- Strong technical skills in areas such as software design patterns, cloud computing (e.g. AWS, Azure), containerization (e.g. Docker), and DevOps practices (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
- Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and version control systems (e.g. Git, SVN)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Professional certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent are an added advantage
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
