Job Title: Senior Material/Pavement Engineer (Infrastructure)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Material/Pavement Engineer to join our team in Ethiopia. As a Senior Material/Pavement Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, construction, and maintenance of roads, highways, and other infrastructure projects. You will work closely with our clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations and laboratory tests to determine the properties of materials and pavements
• Design and develop pavement structures, including flexible and rigid pavements, and pavement rehabilitation strategies
• Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures for materials and pavement construction
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
• Conduct condition assessments and evaluations of existing pavements and recommend maintenance and rehabilitation strategies
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that projects are integrated and coordinated
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and design documents
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in pavement engineering and materials science

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Civil Engineering, Pavement Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university
• At least 8 years of experience in pavement engineering, materials science, or a related field, with a focus on infrastructure projects
• Professional registration with the Ethiopian Ministry of Works and Urban Development or a similar professional body
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian and international standards and codes of practice for pavement design and construction
• Experience with pavement design software, such as AASHTOWare or similar programs
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and lead junior engineers and technicians
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
