SME Support Expert Consultancy

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SME Support Expert Consultancy to provide technical assistance and support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business development, finance, and management, with a focus on supporting the growth and competitiveness of SMEs. The SME Support Expert Consultancy will work closely with our team to design and implement tailored support programs, provide capacity-building training, and facilitate access to finance and markets for SMEs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and develop tailored support programs for SMEs in various sectors
• Provide technical assistance and coaching to SMEs on business planning, financial management, marketing, and operations
• Design and deliver capacity-building training programs for SME owners and staff
• Facilitate access to finance and markets for SMEs, including linkages with financial institutions, investors, and buyers
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including SME associations, industry groups, and government agencies
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of support programs and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, finance, or management, with a focus on supporting SMEs
• Proven track record of designing and implementing successful support programs for SMEs
• Strong understanding of the Ethiopian business environment and regulatory framework
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in Amharic and English is required; proficiency in other local languages is an asset
• Experience working with international organizations, donors, or NGOs is an advantage
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office and database management
