Senior Trade Service Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Trade Service Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert trade services and support to our clients, promoting trade development and facilitating international trade relations. This is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement trade strategies to promote Ethiopian exports and attract foreign investment
• Provide technical assistance and support to exporters, importers, and other stakeholders on trade-related matters
• Facilitate trade missions, exhibitions, and other trade promotion events to enhance trade relationships with foreign countries
• Analyze trade data and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges for Ethiopian trade development
• Collaborate with government agencies, private sector organizations, and other stakeholders to promote trade development and resolve trade-related issues
• Represent the organization in national and international trade forums, meetings, and conferences

Requirements

• Masters degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 8 years of experience in trade development, international trade, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior-level position
• Proven track record of success in promoting trade development, facilitating international trade relations, and providing trade services
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian trade laws, policies, and regulations, as well as international trade agreements and conventions
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Fluency in English, with proficiency in Amharic and other local languages an added advantage
• Ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, to promote trade development and represent the organization
