Senior Surveyor

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Surveyor to join our team in Ethiopia. As a Senior Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading survey teams, conducting complex surveys, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of survey data. You will work closely with our engineering and construction teams to provide surveying support for various projects, including infrastructure development, building construction, and land development. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage survey teams to conduct complex surveys, including topographic, boundary, and engineering surveys
  • Conduct field surveys, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Develop and implement survey plans, methodologies, and schedules
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of survey data, including data processing and analysis
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to provide surveying support for projects
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior surveyors and survey technicians
  • Manage survey equipment, including maintenance, calibration, and procurement
  • Prepare and submit survey reports, including data, maps, and other relevant information

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree in Surveying, Geodesy, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in surveying, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role
  • Professional certification, such as a Licensed Surveyor or Certified Survey Technician, is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and technologies, including GPS, GIS, and CAD
  • Experience with survey software, including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and other relevant programs
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams and managing projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, with knowledge of other local languages an advantage
