Job Title: Quantity Engineer

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling construction costs, preparing and submitting tenders, and ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures. The Quantity Engineer will work closely with the project management team to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit tenders, bids, and proposals for construction projects
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
• Manage and control construction costs, including preparing and tracking budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
• Prepare and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project costs or timelines
• Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• BSc degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in a quantity surveying or engineering role, preferably in the construction industry
• Professional certification, such as a Certified Quantity Surveyor (CQS) or a Chartered Engineer (CEng), is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including FIDIC and Ethiopian construction law
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with construction management software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
