Senior Risk Management Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Management Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact our organization’s assets, reputation, and financial well-being. This is a senior-level role that requires a strong understanding of risk management principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization
• Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to senior management on risk mitigation and control
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Monitor and analyze risk management metrics and report on key risk indicators to senior management
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and insurance providers
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks, and provide guidance to the organization on risk management best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management, from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, auditing, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a senior role
• Professional certifications, such as CRMA, CISA, or CIA, are highly desirable
• Strong understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and standards, including ISO 31000 and COSO
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in Amharic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams
