Job Title: Senior Legal Advisor
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join our team. As a Senior Legal Advisor, you will provide expert legal guidance and support to our organization, ensuring that all operations and activities are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. You will work closely with senior management and other departments to provide legal advice, draft and review legal documents, and represent the organization in legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management and other departments on a wide range of legal matters, including contract law, employment law, and regulatory compliance
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization
- Represent the organization in legal matters, including court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Collaborate with external lawyers and other experts as needed to provide comprehensive legal support to the organization
Requirements
- LL.B degree from a recognized Ethiopian university, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Bar membership and a valid practicing certificate from the Ethiopian Bar Association
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian laws and regulations, including contract law, employment law, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
