Job Title: Registrar
Brief Summary
The Registrar will be responsible for managing the academic records of students, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of student data, and providing administrative support to the academic team. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain academic records management systems to ensure accurate and efficient storage and retrieval of student records
- Coordinate the registration process for new and returning students, including verifying student information and ensuring compliance with academic regulations
- Prepare and distribute academic documents, such as transcripts, diplomas, and certificates, in accordance with institutional policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and support to students, faculty, and staff on matters related to academic records and registration
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of academic records with other institutional systems and processes
- Develop and maintain reports and statistics on student enrollment, retention, and graduation rates
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Education, Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an academic institution
- Strong knowledge of academic records management principles and practices
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Access
- Familiarity with student information systems and database management software
- Fluency in English and Amharic; knowledge of other local languages is an advantage
