Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Tender & Estimation)
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, specializing in tender and estimation. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing costs and contracts for our construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract conditions
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential risks and opportunities
- Develop and manage project budgets, including estimating costs, preparing cost plans, and tracking expenses
- Identify and mitigate potential cost risks, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget
- Analyze and compare bids from contractors and suppliers, ensuring that the best value is achieved for the company
- Manage and negotiate contracts with contractors and suppliers, ensuring that terms and conditions are met
- Provide advice and guidance on cost-related matters to project teams and stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, architecture, and project management, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the required quality standards
Requirements
- BSc or MSc degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field from a reputable Ethiopian university
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, preferably in the construction industry
- Professional certification, such as ECSA (Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation) or IQS (Institute of Quantity Surveyors), is an added advantage
- Proven track record of managing costs and contracts for construction projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and experience with project management software, such as Primavera or MS Project
- Fluency in Amharic and English is required; knowledge of other local languages is an added advantage
