Job Title: Private Sector Advisor

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Private Sector Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and advisory services to private sector entities, promoting economic growth, job creation, and investment in Ethiopia. The Private Sector Advisor will work closely with government agencies, private sector companies, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, address challenges, and develop strategies that foster a business-friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement private sector development strategies, focusing on business growth, employment creation, and investment promotion
• Provide technical assistance and advisory services to private sector companies, including business planning, market research, and access to finance
• Collaborate with government agencies to identify and address regulatory and policy barriers to private sector growth
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including private sector companies, government agencies, and development partners
• Conduct research and analysis on private sector trends, challenges, and opportunities, and develop recommendations for stakeholders
• Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and other capacity-building initiatives for private sector entities

Requirements

• MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Economics, or International Development
• At least 5 years of experience in private sector development, business consulting, or a related field
• Proven track record of providing technical assistance and advisory services to private sector companies
• Strong understanding of the Ethiopian business environment, including regulatory frameworks, market trends, and investment opportunities
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Fluency in English and Amharic; proficiency in other local languages is an asset
• Experience working with government agencies, private sector companies, and development partners is highly desirable
• Certification in business management, entrepreneurship, or a related field is an advantage
