Job Title: People and Culture Specialist (HR Services)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced People and Culture Specialist to join our team. As a People and Culture Specialist, you will play a key role in providing HR services and support to our organization, ensuring that our people strategies align with our business objectives. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining HR programs and processes that foster a positive and inclusive work culture, drive employee engagement, and support the growth and development of our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and employee relations
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, and promote a culture of continuous learning and development
  • Manage recruitment and selection processes to attract and retain top talent, ensuring that hiring practices are fair, equitable, and compliant with labor laws and regulations
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, and to support the effective management of HR functions
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including recruitment agencies, training providers, and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on HR services, talent management, and organizational development
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and regulations, including the Labor Proclamation and the Civil Service Proclamation
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs, and in managing recruitment and selection processes
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, managers, and external partners
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and experience with HR management systems and software
  • Certification in HR, such as SHRM-CP or PHR, is an advantage
  • Fluency in Amharic and English is required, with knowledge of other local languages an advantage
