Logistics Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Logistics Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of goods, supplies, and equipment from one place to another. The goal is to ensure that all logistics operations are carried out efficiently, effectively, and in a cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the movement of goods, supplies, and equipment
• Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers, shipping companies, and other stakeholders
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
• Prepare and manage logistics reports, records, and documentation
• Supervise and train logistics staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or a related field, preferably in a similar industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing logistics operations and improving efficiency
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Office and logistics management software
• Knowledge of Ethiopian customs regulations, laws, and procedures
• Fluency in English and Amharic (spoken and written)
