Logistic and Transit Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Logistic and Transit Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of our logistics and transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods, supplies, and equipment, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics and transportation strategies to achieve business objectives
• Manage and coordinate the movement of goods, supplies, and equipment, including routing, scheduling, and tracking
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including customs, transportation, and safety regulations
• Build and maintain relationships with transportation providers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
• Monitor and analyze logistics and transportation performance metrics, including costs, delivery times, and customer satisfaction
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
• Manage and supervise a team of logistics and transportation staff, including training, development, and performance management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics and transportation management, preferably in a similar industry or sector
• Proven track record of success in managing logistics and transportation operations, including experience with transportation management systems and logistics software
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian laws and regulations related to logistics and transportation, including customs, taxation, and safety regulations
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
• Proficiency in MS Office and other logistics and transportation management software
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
