Job Title: Junior Environmental, Health and Safety Officer (Junior EHS Officer)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Environmental, Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of our environmental, health, and safety management systems. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential environmental, health, and safety hazards and implement corrective actions
• Assist in the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and training programs
• Monitor and analyze environmental, health, and safety performance metrics and report on trends and areas for improvement
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards
• Provide support for incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of environmental, health, and safety data and documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 1-2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety or a related field
• Knowledge of Ethiopian environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations
• Basic first aid and emergency response training
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
• Certification in environmental, health, and safety (e.g. NEBOSH, OSHA) is an advantage
