Job Title: Facilities Engineer (Officer) – Investment Projects Social Business Department

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Engineer to join our Investment Projects Social Business Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our facilities, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal facility performance
  • Manage and supervise maintenance staff, including training and performance evaluation
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs
  • Develop and manage budgets for facility maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure facility needs are met and aligned with organizational goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities management or maintenance engineering
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian building codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Strong technical skills and ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with staff, contractors, and vendors
  • Proficiency in MS Office and facility management software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Certification in facility management or a related field is an asset
  • Membership in a professional engineering association (e.g. Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers) is an advantage
