Inventory Control Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the inventory management process, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels, and implementing effective inventory control measures to minimize losses and optimize stock levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inventory management procedures to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels
• Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels, identifying trends and areas for improvement
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and materials
• Implement and maintain a first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory system to minimize stock obsolescence
• Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods and materials
• Prepare and submit inventory reports to management, highlighting areas of concern and recommending improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 2 years of experience in inventory management or a related field, preferably in a similar industry
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
• Certification in inventory management or a related field, such as CIPS or APICS, is an added advantage
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with ability to communicate effectively in both languages
