Import & Export Division Head

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Import & Export Division Head to lead our import and export operations in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire import and export process, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and driving business growth through strategic planning and execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international trade, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement import and export strategies to achieve business objectives
• Oversee the entire import and export process, including procurement, logistics, and customs clearance
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including Ethiopian customs regulations and international trade agreements
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders
• Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify business opportunities and risks
• Lead a team of import and export professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities
• Collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and finance, to achieve business objectives
• Monitor and control import and export costs, ensuring efficiency and profitability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, International Trade, or Logistics, from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in import and export operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian customs regulations, international trade agreements, and industry standards
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze market trends and competitor activity
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
• Proficiency in English and Amharic, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
• Experience with import and export software and systems, including customs clearance and logistics management
