Job Title: Health Economics Advisor

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Economics Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide expert advice on health economics to inform decision-making and policy development in the healthcare sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the improvement of healthcare outcomes in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct economic evaluations of healthcare interventions, including cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses
• Develop and apply economic models to inform decision-making and policy development
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize research questions and projects
• Design and implement studies to collect and analyze data on healthcare costs, outcomes, and utilization
• Provide technical assistance and training to healthcare professionals and policymakers on health economics principles and methods
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in health economics and related fields, and apply this knowledge to improve the quality and relevance of our work

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university
• At least 5 years of experience in health economics, preferably in a research or consulting environment
• Proven track record of conducting economic evaluations and applying economic models to inform decision-making
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze complex data
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent writing and presentation skills
• Familiarity with Ethiopian healthcare system and policy environment is an asset
• Proficiency in statistical software such as STATA, R, or SAS, and experience with data visualization tools
