Job Title: Head of Human Resource / HRM
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Human Resource / HRM to lead our HR department. As the Head of HR, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company’s overall mission and objectives. You will lead a team of HR professionals and work closely with senior management to drive business growth, improve employee engagement, and foster a positive work culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies that support the company’s goals and objectives
- Lead and manage the HR team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure the team’s success
- Design and implement policies, procedures, and programs to promote a positive and inclusive work environment
- Oversee recruitment and selection processes to attract and retain top talent
- Develop and manage the company’s performance management system, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and employee development plans
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and employee communications
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement organizational change initiatives
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics, including employee engagement, turnover, and training effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies
Requirements
- Masters’ degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HR management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
- Professional certification in HR, such as SHRM-CP or PHR, is an advantage
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective HR strategies that drive business results
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret HR data and metrics
- Knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and regulations, including the Labor Proclamation and the Civil Service Proclamation
- Experience with HR information systems and other HR software applications
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an advantage
