Job Title: General Service Officer
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and skilled General Service Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the smooth running of our office. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to make a meaningful contribution to our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to senior staff members, including preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations
- Manage the office’s day-to-day operations, including maintaining records, handling mail and packages, and coordinating travel arrangements
- Develop and implement effective filing systems, both physical and digital, to ensure easy access to information
- Coordinate meetings, events, and conferences, including booking venues, arranging catering, and preparing materials
- Maintain the office’s inventory of supplies and equipment, including ordering and stocking materials as needed
- Ensure the office is clean, tidy, and well-maintained, including supervising cleaning staff and reporting any maintenance issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- At least 2 years of experience in an administrative or support role, preferably in a similar industry or organization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, management, and external parties
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Fluency in Amharic and English, with knowledge of other local languages an advantage
