Job Title: Gender & Nutrition Advisor- Maternity Cover

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gender & Nutrition Advisor to join our team on a maternity cover basis. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support to our programs, ensuring that gender and nutrition are integrated into all aspects of our work. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable populations, particularly women and children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and support on gender and nutrition to program teams, ensuring that programs are designed and implemented with a strong focus on gender equality and nutrition.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote gender equality and nutrition, including training and capacity-building programs for staff and partners.
  • Conduct research and analysis on gender and nutrition issues, identifying areas for improvement and developing recommendations for program development.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to promote gender equality and nutrition.
  • Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other documentation related to gender and nutrition programs.

Requirements

  • MSc degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Gender Studies, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a similar role, preferably in an international development organization.
  • Strong understanding of gender and nutrition issues, including the social and cultural factors that influence nutrition and health outcomes.
  • Experience in program design, implementation, and management, with a focus on gender and nutrition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and program staff.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Experience working in Ethiopia or a similar context, with a strong understanding of the local culture and customs.
