Field Security Coordinator

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Security Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our staff, assets, and operations in the field. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of security protocols, risk management, and emergency response procedures. The Field Security Coordinator will work closely with our field teams to identify and mitigate potential security threats, and provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with our organization’s security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security risk assessments and threat analyses to identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Develop and implement field security plans, standard operating procedures, and emergency response plans
• Provide security training and briefings to staff and visitors on security protocols, procedures, and best practices
• Monitor and analyze security incidents and trends, and provide recommendations for improvement
• Collaborate with local authorities, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with security regulations and laws
• Conduct regular security inspections and audits to ensure compliance with security protocols and procedures
• Provide technical support and guidance to field teams on security-related matters

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Security Management, International Relations, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in security management, preferably in a field-based setting
• Proven experience in security risk management, threat analysis, and emergency response planning
• Strong understanding of Ethiopian security laws, regulations, and protocols
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
• First aid and CPR certification is an asset
• Willingness to travel to field locations as required
