Factory or Plant Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Factory or Plant Manager to oversee the overall operations of our manufacturing facility in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality products, while also managing costs, improving processes, and leading a team of production staff. This is a senior management role that requires strong leadership, technical, and business skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production strategies to achieve business objectives and improve productivity
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of factory equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Manage and supervise a team of production staff, including setting goals, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality products
  • Analyze production data and reports to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed
  • Manage budgets and costs associated with production, including labor, materials, and equipment
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and logistics, to ensure alignment and support of business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to manufacturing and employment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration, from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 5 years of experience in a management role in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in Ethiopia
  • Proven track record of improving productivity, reducing costs, and enhancing quality in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and motivating a team of production staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with other departments and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws, regulations, and industry standards related to manufacturing and employment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications, such as ERP systems and production management tools
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
