Executive Head of Department – Fleet, Facilities and Property Management
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Executive Head of Department to lead our Fleet, Facilities, and Property Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategies to manage our fleet, facilities, and properties, ensuring they are well-maintained, efficient, and aligned with the organization’s goals. This is a key leadership role that requires strong management, technical, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to manage the organization’s fleet, facilities, and properties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of facilities, including buildings, equipment, and grounds, to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Manage the fleet of vehicles, including procurement, maintenance, and disposal, to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation services.
- Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure they have the necessary skills and expertise to perform their roles effectively.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure effective management of departmental resources and alignment with organizational financial objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure effective collaboration and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Engineering, or Facilities Management, from a recognized Ethiopian university.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably in fleet, facilities, or property management, with a proven track record of success in managing teams and resources.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian laws and regulations related to fleet, facilities, and property management, including labor laws, tax laws, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Amharic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Membership in a relevant professional association, such as the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers or the Institute of Facilities Management, is an added advantage.
