Job Title: Deforestation-Free Supply Chain Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deforestation-Free Supply Chain Expert to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our supply chain is free from deforestation and promoting sustainable practices throughout our operations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure that our supply chain is deforestation-free and aligned with international standards and best practices
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify areas of high deforestation risk and develop mitigation plans
• Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and ensure compliance with our deforestation-free policy
• Provide training and capacity-building programs for suppliers and internal teams on deforestation-free practices and sustainable supply chain management
• Monitor and report on progress towards deforestation-free supply chain goals and objectives
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in deforestation-free supply chain management and make recommendations for improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 5 years of experience in supply chain management, sustainability, or a related field, with a focus on deforestation-free practices
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful deforestation-free supply chain strategies
• Strong knowledge of international standards and best practices in deforestation-free supply chain management, such as the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data and make informed decisions
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with the ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment
• Willingness to travel frequently to supplier sites and other locations as required
