Job Title: Customs Clearance Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Customs Clearance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the customs clearance process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customs clearance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the customs clearance process for imports and exports, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure adherence to customs regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement effective customs clearance procedures and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, and customer service to ensure seamless customs clearance operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on customs clearance procedures and regulations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth customs clearance operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in customs clearance, logistics, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in Ethiopian customs regulations, laws, and procedures, including knowledge of the Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority (ERCA) regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, with proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Certifications in customs clearance, logistics, or a related field, such as a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), are an added advantage.
