Job Title: Consultancy Service to Undertake Women-led Home-based Food Micro-franchise Model

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant to undertake a women-led home-based food micro-franchise model in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating a sustainable and scalable micro-franchise model that empowers women entrepreneurs in the food sector. The consultant will work closely with our team to identify opportunities, develop business plans, and provide technical assistance to women-led micro-franchises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a market analysis and feasibility study to identify opportunities for women-led home-based food micro-franchises in Ethiopia
  • Design a sustainable and scalable micro-franchise model that empowers women entrepreneurs in the food sector
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan, including marketing, financial, and operational strategies
  • Provide technical assistance and training to women-led micro-franchises, including business management, food safety, and quality control
  • Establish partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including food suppliers, distributors, and regulatory bodies
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the micro-franchise model and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Food Science, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 5 years of experience in entrepreneurship development, micro-franchising, or a related field, with a focus on women’s economic empowerment
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful micro-franchise models or entrepreneurship development programs
  • Strong knowledge of the Ethiopian food sector, including regulatory requirements and market trends
  • Excellent business planning, marketing, and financial management skills
  • Strong communication, training, and facilitation skills, with the ability to work with women entrepreneurs and other stakeholders
  • Fluency in Amharic and English, with the ability to write reports and business plans in English
  • Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or private sector companies is an advantage
