Communications Director

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Communications Director to lead our communications team in developing and implementing effective communications strategies that promote our brand, values, and mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a strong reputation for our organization, both internally and externally, through various communications channels. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that align with our organization’s goals and objectives
• Lead the communications team in creating and disseminating high-quality content across various channels, including social media, media releases, and internal communications
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media representatives, partners, and internal stakeholders
• Provide strategic counsel to senior management on communications-related matters
• Manage and coordinate crisis communications and reputation management
• Analyze and report on communications metrics to measure the effectiveness of communications strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field from a reputable Ethiopian university
• At least 5 years of experience in a communications or public relations role, preferably in a senior management position
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications strategies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with Ethiopian media landscape and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content management systems
