Church Engagement Support Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Church Engagement Support Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with churches, providing support and resources to help them engage with our organization’s mission and activities. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate individual to make a meaningful contribution to our work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to build and maintain relationships with churches and other faith-based organizations
  • Provide support and resources to churches, including training, workshops, and materials, to help them engage with our organization’s mission and activities
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between churches and our organization, ensuring that their needs and concerns are heard and addressed
  • Organize and coordinate events, conferences, and meetings to bring together church leaders and our organization’s staff to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of church engagement strategies and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Theology, Social Work, or Community Development, from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 3 years of experience in church engagement, community development, or a related field, with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with churches and other faith-based organizations
  • Strong understanding of the Ethiopian church context and the role of faith-based organizations in community development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Computer literacy, with experience in using Microsoft Office and other software applications
