Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chemistry Lab Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical support to the laboratory staff, ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory activities. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for experiments and tests
• Conduct routine laboratory tests and experiments, and record and analyze data
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment, adhering to established protocols and procedures
• Assist in the preparation of solutions, reagents, and other materials as required
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to achieve research goals and objectives

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a chemistry laboratory
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures, and experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work accurately
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Familiarity with Ethiopian laboratory standards and regulations, and experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is an asset
