Job Title: Business and Economics Teacher

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Business and Economics Teacher to join our prestigious school in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Business and Economics to students in grades 9-12, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, and contributing to the school’s mission of providing a world-class education. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching, excellent subject knowledge, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Business and Economics to students in grades 9-12, following the Ethiopian national curriculum and school’s syllabus
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and activities to promote student learning and understanding
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities
  • Provide individual support and guidance to students, including those with special needs or English language learners
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s curriculum and assessment policies
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and achievement, and report to parents and school administrators as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (PGDT) or a Master’s degree in Education, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience in Business and Economics, preferably in an Ethiopian or international school setting
  • Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the Ethiopian national curriculum and school’s syllabus
  • Strong teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Ability to use technology, including educational software and learning management systems, to support teaching and learning
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
