Senior Health Economist Consultant (Nutrition Financing)
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Health Economist Consultant with expertise in Nutrition Financing to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and expertise in health economics, with a focus on nutrition financing, to support the development of policies and programs that improve nutrition outcomes in Ethiopia. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the improvement of health and nutrition services in the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct economic analyses to inform nutrition policy and program development, including cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit, and cost-utility analyses
- Provide technical assistance to government agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders on nutrition financing and health economics
- Develop and implement research studies to investigate the economic benefits and costs of nutrition interventions
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and patterns in nutrition financing and health outcomes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement nutrition financing strategies and plans
- Provide training and capacity-building support to government officials, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders on health economics and nutrition financing
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Economics, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university
- At least 8 years of experience in health economics, with a focus on nutrition financing, in Ethiopia or a similar context
- Proven track record of conducting economic analyses and research studies in health and nutrition
- Excellent knowledge of health economics principles, methods, and tools, including cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and econometric modeling
- Strong understanding of the Ethiopian health system and nutrition sector, including policies, programs, and stakeholders
- Experience working with government agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders in Ethiopia
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required; proficiency in other local languages is an asset
