Senior Trade Service Officer
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Trade Service Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting trade development, providing trade-related services, and facilitating international trade relations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the growth and development of Ethiopia’s trade sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement trade promotion strategies to increase exports and attract foreign investment
- Provide trade-related services, including market research, trade facilitation, and business matchmaking
- Facilitate international trade relations by building and maintaining relationships with foreign governments, trade organizations, and businesses
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trade opportunities and challenges
- Collaborate with government agencies, private sector organizations, and other stakeholders to promote trade development
- Develop and manage trade-related projects, including trade missions, exhibitions, and workshops
- Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as International Trade, Business Administration, Economics, or Marketing
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade promotion, international trade, or a related field
- Proven track record of success in promoting trade development and facilitating international trade relations
- Strong knowledge of international trade agreements, trade policies, and trade facilitation procedures
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Fluency in English and Amharic; knowledge of other languages is an advantage
- Experience working with government agencies, private sector organizations, and other stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
