Job Title: Senior Banking Business Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Banking Business Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing business growth strategies, managing high-value customer relationships, and overseeing the overall performance of our banking operations. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the banking industry in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business growth strategies to increase market share and revenue
• Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value customers, including corporate and individual clients
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and risk management, to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff members to develop their skills and expertise
• Monitor and manage risk exposure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 8 years of experience in banking, with at least 3 years in a senior management role
• Professional certification in banking, such as a Certified Banking Professional (CBP) or a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, is an asset
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian banking regulations, laws, and industry standards
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze market trends, identify business opportunities, and develop effective growth strategies
• Fluency in Amharic and English is required; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
