Job Title: Private Sector Advisor

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Private Sector Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide strategic advice and support to our organization in promoting private sector development and investment in Ethiopia. The Private Sector Advisor will work closely with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector companies, and international organizations, to identify and capitalize on business opportunities, improve the business environment, and enhance economic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on private sector development, investment, and trade policies to support the growth of the Ethiopian economy
  • Analyze market trends, identify business opportunities, and develop strategies to promote private sector investment and growth
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector companies, and international organizations
  • Develop and implement programs to improve the business environment, enhance competitiveness, and increase access to finance for private sector companies
  • Collaborate with other teams to design and implement projects that support private sector development and investment
  • Conduct research and analysis on private sector development issues and provide recommendations to inform policy and program design

Requirements

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university
  • At least 5 years of experience in private sector development, investment, or a related field, with a focus on Ethiopia or the African region
  • Proven track record of success in promoting private sector development, investment, and trade
  • Strong understanding of the Ethiopian business environment, investment climate, and economic development policies
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required; proficiency in other local languages is an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data analysis software
