About the Job
Role and responsibilities of a Head of Supply Chain

 

Develop and implement a supply chain strategy aligned with trading objectives.
Forecast demand and plan procurement, inventory, and distribution accordingly.
Balance cost efficiency with service reliability.
Oversee sourcing of agri products, livestock, automotive parts, or other traded goods.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers, farmers, OEMs, and distributors.
Ensure ethical sourcing and compliance with trade regulations.
Manage imports of cars and components and exports of agri products and livestock.
Ensure compliance with customs, tariffs, duties, and international trade laws.
Handle documentation, certifications, and regulatory approvals.
Oversee transportation, forwarding, and transit operations across domestic and global routes.
Optimize logistics networks to reduce delays and costs.
Implement digital tracking systems for real-time visibility of shipments.
Oversee storage facilities for perishable goods (agri, livestock) and industrial components (automotive).
Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste and stockouts.
Ensure safety, hygiene, and compliance in warehouses.
Coordinate with after-sales teams for spare parts availability, warranty fulfilment, and service logistics.
Ensure customer satisfaction through timely delivery and responsive support.
Monitor feedback loops to refine supply chain processes.
Track supply chain costs (procurement, logistics, warehousing, distribution).
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
Drive sustainability initiatives in agri and livestock supply chains.
Modernize logistics and distribution with digital tools.
Train staff in cost monitoring, import/export compliance, and customer service excellence.
