Job Title: Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (RMNCH-N) Advisor

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (RMNCH-N) Advisor to provide technical leadership and support to our programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight to improve the health and well-being of women, children, and newborns in Ethiopia. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to government and non-government partners to strengthen RMNCH-N programs and services
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of RMNCH-N services, particularly for disadvantaged and hard-to-reach populations
  • Collaborate with other technical advisors and stakeholders to integrate RMNCH-N services with other health programs, such as HIV/AIDS and malaria control
  • Conduct needs assessments and situation analyses to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in RMNCH-N services
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to track progress and impact of RMNCH-N programs
  • Build capacity of local health workers and stakeholders to provide high-quality RMNCH-N services
  • Represent the organization in national and international forums, and contribute to the development of national policies and guidelines related to RMNCH-N

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in RMNCH-N programming, preferably in a developing country context
  • Proven track record of providing technical assistance and guidance to government and non-government partners
  • Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian health policies, strategies, and programs related to RMNCH-N
  • Strong understanding of the social determinants of health and the importance of addressing health inequities
  • Experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans for RMNCH-N programs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, health workers, and community leaders
