Youth Care and Development Officer
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Care and Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote the overall development and well-being of young people. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced professional to make a positive impact on the lives of Ethiopian youth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement youth development programs and activities that address the social, emotional, and educational needs of young people
- Build and maintain relationships with local communities, schools, and other stakeholders to promote the organization’s youth development programs
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to young people, helping them to develop life skills, build confidence, and make informed decisions about their future
- Collaborate with other teams and organizations to design and deliver programs that promote youth development, education, and employment
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth development programs, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for future development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- At least 2 years of experience working with young people, preferably in a development or social work context
- Strong understanding of the social, economic, and cultural context of Ethiopia, with a focus on the needs and challenges of young people
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Fluency in Amharic and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a strong commitment to collaboration, flexibility, and adaptability
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills, with the ability to design and implement effective programs and activities
