Import & Export Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Import & Export Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of import and export operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws, and driving business growth through effective trade management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of international trade practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement import and export strategies to achieve business objectives
• Manage and coordinate all aspects of import and export operations, including logistics, customs clearance, and compliance
• Conduct market research and analyze trade data to identify new business opportunities and optimize existing trade relationships
• Negotiate with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to secure favorable trade agreements and resolve any disputes
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those related to customs, taxation, and product safety
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and logistics teams, to ensure alignment and effective communication
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including import and export volumes, revenue, and profitability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as International Business, Logistics, or Economics, from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in import and export management, preferably in a similar industry or sector
• Proven track record of success in managing import and export operations, including experience with customs clearance, logistics, and trade compliance
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex trade data and identify opportunities for growth
• Knowledge of Ethiopian trade laws and regulations, as well as international trade agreements and standards
• Fluency in English, with proficiency in Amharic or other local languages an advantage
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on results and customer satisfaction
