Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cooperative Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to cooperatives, with the aim of improving their overall performance and sustainability. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated professional to make a meaningful contribution to the development of cooperatives in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and advice to cooperatives on governance, management, and operational matters
• Conduct diagnostic assessments of cooperatives to identify areas of strength and weakness
• Develop and implement capacity-building programs for cooperatives, including training and mentoring
• Foster partnerships and collaborations between cooperatives, government agencies, and other stakeholders
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of cooperatives and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Cooperative Business, Business Administration, or Agriculture
• At least 5 years of experience in cooperative development, business management, or a related field
• Proven track record of providing technical assistance and advice to cooperatives or similar organizations
• Strong knowledge of cooperative principles, governance, and management
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in Amharic and English; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
• Willingness to travel frequently to rural areas of Ethiopia
• Certification in cooperative management or a related field is an advantage
